Proper diet to Deal with BPH


What is BPH? BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) is also known as benign prostatic hypertrophy. BPH is the term to describe the increasing of prostate size.  This organ surrounds the urethra. Increasing the size of prostate will cause problem during urination and ejaculation. BPH is not cancerous. But the disease can increase the PSA level that lead to prostate cancer. Prostate enlarged can be detected by rectal exam, examine the urethra, prostate, and bladder using a cytoscope. The instrument is inserted through the penis. To overcome the benign prostatic hyperplasia can be done medically and natural treatment. Besides, you should also support with healthy diet. Selecting proper food can reduce and prevent the prostate enlargement symptoms.

Food that rich in vitamin C
Vitamin C is known as anti oxidant, very useful to improve the endurance and reduce the risk to BPH (prostatic hypertrophy). This food includes; bell peppers, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kohlrabi, snow or snap peas, cauliflower, kale and tomato or vegetable juices.
Food that rich in zinc
Some expert says that food rich in zinc can improve the prostate function although the mechanism is not known exactly. This food include liver, shellfish, oysters, soy, pumpkin seeds, nuts, wheat germ, bran, milk, eggs, chicken, lentils, and peas.
Food with fiber
Food that rich in fiber can reduce the pressure from lower bowel. This food can also prevent the colon cancer. Food rich in fiber is widely available in fruit and vegetables.

Soy base food
This food can improve the hormone balance. The food includes tofu, miso soup, soy milk, soy beans, and vegetarian burgers. These foods are rich in phytosterol that can reduce the risk of the enlarged prostate.

Protein food
The best choice for this food includes salmon, tuna, sardines, halibut and mackerel. This food is rich in omega 3. The fatty acid is known as natural anti inflammatory.

Avoid animal fat.
This food can increase the hormone sex and increase the risk the increasing of irritation on prostate. Sex hormone (testosterone) can change to DHT that cause the prostate enlarged.

Avoid alcohol and coffee.
Alcohol is beverage that high in calorie but there are no nutrients. This beverage can increase the zinc excretion.

Reduce to eat sugar food
Food that rich in sugar can inhibit the healing of BPH

Reduce dairy product such as; aged cheeses, Aged Cheddar, Swiss, Edam and Gouda.
